Two anthologies out this week with stories by me

I’ve been a fan of Laksa Media’s anthologies over the past few years, and was very pleased to contribute to one: Shades Within Us: Tales of Migrations and Fractured Borders. The story I wrote for this is near-future science fiction, set in Manitoba, where I grew up (and in the marsh where I used to work as a tour guide.) It’s about climate change and refugee policy and family. The release date is Sept. 8, 2018.

I’ve also long wanted to have a story in an anthology in the venerable Tesseracts series, and this week marks the release of Nevertheless (Tesseracts Twenty-One), which is all about optimism. My story is about a flying carpet in a dying city, and it’s one of my personal favourites. It features a cranky middle-aged lady, which is quickly becoming my brand. Could be worse.
