Announcing two new time-travel novellas from!

I’ve been over the moon about this for a while now, and while the eagle-eyed might have caught this announcement in Publishers Marketplace…

…or this one in Locus…

… here is the official announcement from itself: Lee Harris has acquired two time-travel novellas from me. They’re about a highway-woman in 1780s England who gets tangled up in a history war, and I love them very much.

They’re novellas, so they’re shorter than novels, but they’re books and will be available in print and as e-books. The first one should be out by the end of 2018, and the second in the spring of 2019.

I wrote the first one, Alice Payne Arrives, in 2016, in a whirlwind, and on a lark. And lo and behold, it will be a real book in the world! I’m writing the second one now. Writing a sequel — and a contracted sequel at that, especially in the brain-weaselly months preceding my novel debut — has been a new and terrifying experience, but I’ve been working hard on it and am feeling good about how it’s shaping up.

I’m so pleased to be working with Lee and the whole team at, and as always, I must thank my lovely agent, Jennie Goloboy. And now I have to get back to writing Alice Payne Rides
