Tonight, I passed the 30,000-word mark on the first draft of Grub Street. It’s starting to feel rich in characters and themes, too. And I am about a third of the way through the plot, I think, which matches up with the word count nicely and means it will be novel length.
I’m in Chapter 13.
It’s nice to hit that place where it becomes indisputable that the idea I’m working through is indeed a novel. Whether it’s a good novel, or a publishable one, remains to be seen. I haven’t been making my goal of 1,000 a words a day very often lately, but I have been writing almost every day.
Now off to bed.
